Wombat Flat skin for Zebra2 and ZebraHZ

OVERVIEW

This is a new skin for Zebra2 and ZebraHZ. It was initially based on the ZebraHZ default skin, but with numerous changes to match my personal preferences, including: (i) dramatically more targeted use of color. All background elements are shades of gray, while color is used only for highlighting, (ii) removal of gradiants, and (iii) new knobs, with 4 sets of alternative knobs. Two alternative versions are provided, one where all highlighting is blue and a “colorized” version where different sections are colored differently (globals = white, generators = blue, modulators = yellow, effects = green).

Please note that the Zebra2 skin is based on the ZebraHZ skin, so retains the ZebraHZ overall structure, with appropriate modifications for Zebra2’s reduced features.

Overall, I hope you find the skin more more modern and clean than the original, but your feedback is appreciated.

RELEASE NOTES

• The skins should be considered release candidate level, and some bugs likely exist.

INSTALLATION

• For ZebraHZ, copy the folder “Wombat Flat Blue (ZHZ)” and/or “Wombat Flat Colorized (ZHZ)” to [vstfolder]\ZebraHZ.data\Support\Themes

• For Zebra2, copy the folder “Wombat Flat Blue (Z2)” and/or “Wombat Flat Colorized (Z2)” to [vstfolder]\Zebra2.data\Support\Themes

MODIFICATIONS

The “Modifications” folder contains several mods you can use to customize skin, which are described below:

• Alternative knobs

I have created different sets of knobs for you to try, which have been inspired by various other softsynths that I like (but have been totally created by me without use of any assets of other synths). The default set is loosely based on Massive X’s dark theme, but knobs loosely based on Dune, Phase Plant, Bitwig, Factory and the default ZebraHZ skin, as well as totally flat set are included.

To install them, simply go to the “Modifications\Alternative Knobs” folder of package, and copy and paste the appropriate “images” folder into the installed “Wombat Flat Blue (ZHZ)”, “Wombat Flat Colorized (ZHZ), or “Wombat Flat Blue (Z2)” or “Wombat Flat Colorized (ZHZ)” folder. Overwrite any existing files.

• Multicolor XY Pads

Some users prefer having each XY pad a separate color rather than all one color. If you wish to do this, simply go to the “Modifications\Alternative Knobs\Multicolor XY Pads” folder of package, and copy and paste the appropriate “images” folder into the installed “Wombat Flat Blue (ZHZ)”, “Wombat Flat Colorized (ZHZ), or “Wombat Flat Blue (Z2)” or “Wombat Flat Colorized (ZHZ)” folder. Overwrite any existing files.
